The Longview WordPress theme has 8 widget areas. Each widget area comes with built in styles for a specific set of widgets. The widget area locations and supported widgets are documented below.
Before Header
This widget area is displayed in a horizontal bar above the main header. This is a great place for announcements and menus.
Supported widgets:

- Recent Posts (without post date)

Inside Header
This widget area is displayed below the site title on mobile devices and floated to the right side of the header on desktops. It can be used in place of the default header menu.

After Header
This widget area is displayed in a horizontal bar below the main header. This is a great place for additional menus.

Sidebar/Additional Sidebar
Supported widgets:

Before Footer, Inside Footer, After Footer
These widget areas display in columns based on the number of widgets they contain. See the Footer Widget Area Columns article for details.
Horizontal
If there is only a single widget in the footer widget areas, they display horizontally, similar to the way widgets are displayed in the header. Supported widgets:
- Archives
- Categories
- Custom Menu
- Meta
- Pages
- Recent Posts (without post date)
- Search
- Tag Cloud
- Text
Vertical
If is more than one widget in the widget area, the widgets are displayed in columns. Since the widgets are displayed vertically in this case, they use the same styles as the sidebar widget areas.
