Headers and Footers

Most websites use a standard combination of features for their headers and footers. Longview supports many of these combinations by providing up to three rows of content in the header and three more rows of content in the footer.

Headers

By default, there is a single header row with the site title, site description, and menu.

By default, the footer displays a single row with only the copyright info. There is also a footer menu position defined in the theme, much like the header menu position. If there is a menu assigned to the footer menu position, it will be displayed in the single footer row as well.

Footer with single rowJust like the header, there is a widget area above the main footer row. As you can see, the widget area supports multiple widgets. In fact, each widget area automatically detects how many widgets it contains and splits the widget area into columns accordingly (up to 9 columns per row).

Footer with extra row on bottomIf the widget area inside the main footer row contains a widget, that widget replaces the default footer text and menu, as seen in the screenshot above this paragraph.

Finally, all three widget areas can be used at the same time.
